India Vs West Indies !!

Ishant Sharma at Adelaide Oval

India vs West Indies test series is among the most thrilling series I hace watched in my life.I just switched on my television and was shocked to find that Indian batting order was struggling again !! They were playing at 44 with 4 wickets back in pavalion with Rahul Dravid among them.Only VVS Laxman,Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh were left to stand up a good score.VVS Laxman proved his experience and played with hard bat to score outstanding 85 and reaching aggregate of 8000 runs, after Sachin,Rahul and Sunil Gavaskar. He played like a matured batsman, hitting fours with so much ease that gave confidence to Suresh Raina,a young talented and ya ofcourse Poster Boy of Indian cricket team to help India reach a somehow good total of 201.VVS Laxman is now counted among very few batsmen in the world that can sting with the tail.He played marvelous innings with tail-enders,helping them to gain confidence and score for the country. This match ,I am sure would be stored among his classics.

In return after this shocking start from India,I expected the same situation for West Indies also (as happened in last test match which gave me  confidence to think beyond possibilities). Same thing happened with West Indies,as they were thrashed by furious bowling by Ishant sharma and Praveen Kumar. They bowled so beautifuly that created havoc in West Indies pavilion.West Indies batting order collapsed like cards and were helpless and ya,choked to fight against cruel Indian Bowlers.

At last,India was back in the match…with Indies losing their 5 wickets with 60 runs on board…and Men In Blue gave another hope of winning…

Wow..Kiwis came back like a missile in the first test match being played at Ahmedabad. World Number One were stunned by outstanding performances by the Kiwi tail-end. After a struggling score of 4/137, Jessy Ryder and Williamson played an entrancing cricket and scored beautiful 103 and 131 respectively. This helped their fans a good reason to cheer and reached a respectable score of  459. New Zealand bowlers too mesmerized the audience by clearing the Indian top slot at the mere score of 15 runs. Hosts were choked to score ,with all key players resting in pavilion including Sachin Tendulkar , Rahul Dravid etc. CS Martin took 5 wicket haul by giving only 63 runs from his side. India ended up its second innings at somehow respectable score of 266.Harbhajan Singh and VVS Laxman were the  only players who managed to disturb Kiwi bowlers and scored super useful 115 and 91 respectively. Harbhajan Singh scored a maiden test century and hence proving himself to be counted as an All rounder. By the end of the second innings India managed to set a target of 295 and hoping for another miracle.

India no doubt has missed a brilliant opportunity to win this match but is also at a stake of loosing it. Now only key bowlers ,Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan ,Ojha and Sreesanth can save India’s Pride.

Sachin Tendulkar celebrates his century agains...

After a humiliating lose at Mohali , Aussies seemed to dominate the match from the begining ,giving India no space for playing. They struck a huge total of 478 with key player Marcus North who entranced audience with his brilliant knock of 128. Australian batsmen did their task but bowlers were struggling to stop Indian Spartans. Sachin Tendulkar fought back brilliantly giving Aussies another hint, why India is World Number One. Sachin not only completed his 14,000 runs but was also successful to record his 6th double hundred in test cricket.  His 214 runs not only helped India fight back the total but also inspired bowlers for better performance. Bowlers choked Australians to the mere total of 223 and hence achieving an easy target of 207. In reply, when  Virender Sehwag fell early , the match seemed to be similar to the final day in Mohali, where the wounded VVS Laxman took the command and directed India to dramatic win. But fortunately the case wasn’t the same, Murli Vijay and Chetechwar Pujara handled the hot Aussie bowlers and struck a brilliant knock of 37 and 72. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid both played an impressive knock and helped India to an easy win. So, India have confirmed their status as World No. 1.

A Century at the 'G

India manages a thrilling win over Aussies in their first test being played at Mohali. After a target of 216 runs, India seemed to struggle and lost its top order with the mere total of 48 on the board. Sachin Tendulkar took the command but lost his wicket at 38 to Bollinger by giving an easy catch to Micheal Hussey. With all the hopes of winning fading gradually , injured VVS Laxman played a brilliant knock with tail-ender Ishant Sharma of 73* to help India steal the victory from the jaws of defeat. In the end , the hard work of VVS Laxman and Ishant Sharma paid off and India achieved its one of the closest win in the Indian Cricket history ie,with just one wicket in hand.
